We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in our award-winning business in Auchincruive, Ayr. This position is a full-time, office-based role.

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, the successful candidate will assist with all aspects of the Sales Ledger, Credit Control, and Cashbook.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Assisting with credit control, including contacting customers, reviewing credit limits, maintaining new customer forms, reviewing aged debtor list, liaising with overseas customer service staff for overdue invoices, producing monthly statements, updating hold lists.
  2. Setting up new customer accounts and allocating credit limits.
  3. Updating sales ledger accounts with correct details.
  4. Resolving disputed invoices in a timely manner.
  5. Posting cashbook transactions.
  6. Depositing cheques weekly and encouraging customers to pay via BACS.
  7. Answering telephone calls and redirecting as needed.
  8. Assisting visitors to the business.
About you:
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Knowledge of SAGE and SAP systems is beneficial, but training will be provided.
  • Relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
