Job summary

SC Johnson is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our Finance Shared Service Centre in Frimley, Surrey. The role focuses on financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany support, and partnering with local countries to improve processes.

You’ll support the Associate Manager with month-end activities, ensuring controls and GAAP compliance, while contributing to continuous improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience with balance sheets, accruals and reconciliations.
• Exposure to month-end close processes and P&L/BS accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the controls are in place to maintain financial information quality across EMEA.
• Perform month end tasks within close periods and record bank entries.
• Post/release month end accruals and own monthly close and year-end activities.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain records.
• Develop internal/external audit and SOX documentation as it relates to the role.
• Raiser intercompany invoices, cash allocation and reconciliation.

Accounting Analyst

Location: Frimley, Surrey

Function: Finance, Shared Service Centre (SSC)

Contract: Permanent

About the role

This role is based in our EMEA Shared Service Centre and is to be accountable for providing financial analysis, performing Balance Sheet Reconciliations, intercompany accounting support, provide finance business partnering to the local country and liaising across multiple functions, and to actively support the Associate Manager in both routine tasks and process improvements. We do not support international relocation for this role

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the appropriate controls are operational in order to maintain the quality and integrity of financial information, ensuring consistency of process across EMEA


• Perform month end tasks within 3 day close period and record bank entries


• Posting/ Releasing Month End related accruals


• Own the monthly close process and year-end activities ensuring accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet


• Ensure that financial statements are kept in accordance with US and local GAAP and all appropriate records are maintained


• Performing analysis of balance sheet accounts to identify accounting discrepancies and provide input on resolutions


• Ensure that all internal controls, financial policies and procedures established by GIA are being followed


• Develop and maintain internal/external audit and SOX documentation as it relates to the role


• Further, act as liaison between internal/external auditors and business partners during reviews and audits


• Resolving country queries


• Developing customer relationships with internal customers


• Identify process improvements with emphasis on streamlining and/or improving controls within accounting through using LEAN methodology


• Raising intercompany invoices, cash allocation and reconciliation for intercompany accounts

Experience you’ll bring

• Accounting department experience in a medium to large size company


• Experience of balance sheets, accruals and reconciliation, able to demonstrate a high level of numeracy


• Knowledge and experience of SAP CO Module is an advantage


• Strong Excel skills


• Ideally studying either CIMA / ACCA / ACA


• Graduate calibre ideally in business/finance or equivalent
