Job Introduction

We are recruiting high-calibre Accountants to join our Finance Operations team in Cardiff. Finance Operations is central to BBC Finance, delivering integrated, sustainable, and high-quality process accounting and reporting services to our business and finance customers. We are hiring across various teams within Finance Operations and will assign the best skills to the most suitable areas.

Main Responsibilities

As an Accountant in Financial Operations, your key duties will include:

• Contributing to reporting processes to understand the financial position and performance of the Division, rectifying key issues, and ensuring proper process adherence with control over sub-ledgers and integration with the general ledger.
• Managing the accurate recording of transactions in the ERP general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and improving financial process efficiency and controls where possible.
• Handling month-end, quarter-end, and annual accounting processes, collaborating with stakeholders.
• Supporting the Finance Controller with internal and external audits, working with outsourced partners, FP&A teams, and divisional stakeholders.
• Documenting and implementing accounting judgments in line with BBC policies and standards.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal controls and substantiated balances.

• Hold a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Have significant experience delivering high-quality accounting services.
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to influence.
• Be well-organized with effective workload prioritization skills.
• Be capable of simplifying complex data/principles for wider understanding.
• Have knowledge of accounting principles and controls.
