Job summary

First Recruitment Services in Hassocks is seeking an Accountant for a full-time, office-based role. You will handle Accounts to CT600, VAT and Personal Tax, delivering client-friendly advice in a professional team environment.

The position is Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00, with 35 hours per week. Excellent pension scheme and a strong benefits package are offered. Office parking available near Hassocks.

Qualifications

• Office based role in Hassocks.
• ICAEW or ACA qualified, ideally with practice experience.
• Proven experience in accountancy including VAT, CT600 and Personal Tax.
• Computer skills: Iris, Xero, Excel and Sage.
• Excellent communication, ability to work autonomously and as a team.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
• Strong organisational skills to maintain a structured workflow.

Responsibilities

• Accounts preparation to CT600 level.
• VAT preparation using various software systems.
• Personal Tax preparation for clients.
• Communicate tax liabilities to clients via telephone, email or in person.
• Meet deadlines and file returns.
• Clear communication with external bodies.
• Provide general advisory support to clients as required.
