Job summary

Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a well-established organisation to recruit an Accountant to join their growing finance team in Wimborne Minster. This role offers opportunities to develop in a supportive environment with exposure to a varied client portfolio and broad financial reporting responsibilities.

You'll work alongside property and finance professionals, delivering statutory accounts, interim reports, budgets, reconciliations, and onboarding new clients.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or actively studying towards one).
  • Experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
  • Experience in practice or property accounting is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • Strong communication with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid MS Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing year-end statutory and client accounts.
  • Producing interim financial reports and supporting regular reporting requirements.
  • Assisting with budgeting and review with operational teams.
  • Completing reconciliations and keeping records accurate.
  • Onboarding new client portfolios and validating financial information.
  • Building relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting and finance projects.

The Role

Working within a busy client accounting team, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining high standards of client service across a diverse portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing year-end statutory and client accounts
  • Producing interim financial reports and supporting regular reporting requirements
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of budgets alongside operational teams
  • Completing reconciliations and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date
  • Supporting the onboarding of new client portfolios and validating financial information
  • Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting and finance projects as required
What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be actively studying towards one)
  • Previous experience within an accounting or financial reporting role
  • Practice or property accounting experience would be advantageous but isn't essential

  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise your workload effectively
  • Strong communication skills with confidence working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office
