Job summary

Flex Ltd. in Warrington, UK is seeking an Accountant to support monthly P&L for a key customer and drive financial reporting with robust internal controls. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will perform reconciliations, variance analysis, VAT reporting, and support audits.

The role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, AAT or equivalent, and strong Excel/ERP skills. Hybrid working and a collaborative, international environment are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of accounting, finance, and general ledger management.
• AAT qualification or equivalent accounting background.
• Finance or business degree; CIMA/ACCA qualification preferred.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of SOX and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and IT literacy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience with SAP or BAAN ERP systems.
• Eligible to work in UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly P&L reporting and financial activities for a key customer.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and management information.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
• Conduct variance analysis and review actual results against forecasts.
• Support month-end close processes and present financial results during business reviews.
• Prepare VAT reports and support tax-related reporting activities.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Analyze freight costs, accruals, and other financial performance indicators.
• Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to internal control requirements.
• Collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders while supporting cross-functional team activities

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• At least 5+ years of strong experience in accounting, finance, and general ledger management.
• AAT qualification, equivalent experience, or a strong accounting background.
• Finance or Business degree and/or CIMA/ACCA qualification preferred.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Knowledge of SOX requirements and internal control environments.
• Experience preparing VAT or other tax-related reports is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with SAP, BAAN, or other ERP systems would be beneficial.
• Eligible to work in UK
