Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of key financial data to monitor performance, drive improvement, collect cash, and ensure governance across key client contracts.
  • Manage month-end close activities, including accruals, unbilled and unearned entries, ensuring compliance with corporate deadlines and standards.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L at gross margin level, covering reimbursable labor, costs, lump sums, procurement, and other contract-specific items.
  • Provide variance analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast to support contract management.
  • Manage balance sheet items such as unbilled, unearned, accounts receivable, and accruals, with focus on accuracy and improvement.
  • Report and analyze Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and support related improvements.
  • Provide financial data for project governance, HSE manhours, and other reports as needed.
  • Present monthly results to Contract Managers and Finance Business Partners.
  • Review invoices produced by billing systems, guide the billing team on non-routine invoicing, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and share best practices.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as requested by management.
Qualifications
  • Recognized accounting qualification or part-qualified (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) and actively studying towards full qualification.
  • Alternatively, qualified by experience.
Knowledge & Experience
  • 3-5 years relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP/forecasting systems.
  • Good commercial understanding of contract finances.
Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage own workload.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven.
  • High ethical standards and honesty.
