Job summary

KCR Solutions in South Shields is seeking an experienced Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller. This hands-on role offers exposure across the full finance function and a clear pathway to stepping up to more senior responsibilities.

You will prepare management accounts, manage journals and reconciliations, assist with month-end close, VAT, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to improving financial controls. AAT or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified candidates encouraged.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

KCR Solutions are supporting this established and growing service-sector business based in South Tyneside in their search to recruit an experienced Accountant Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a varied and hands-on role offering exposure across all aspects of the finance function.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
• Posting and reconciliation of journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Monitoring cash flow and supporting cash management activities.
• Maintaining the fixed asset register.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Reviewing and improving financial procedures and controls.
• Providing support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions where required.
• Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Financial Controller.

The Person
