Job summary

KCR is seeking a Finance Manager in Newcastle to lead financial management and reporting for a growing SME. You will supply management accounts, monthly packs, and variance analysis, while developing budgets and rolling forecasts with the MD and service leads.

Strong Xero and Excel skills are essential, with responsibilities spanning cash flow, VAT, payroll, and year-end coordination. Part-time candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial management and reporting figures to senior management.
• Oversee management accounts and month-end close processes.
• Prepare and present monthly management packs.
• Analyse budget variances and key financial indicators with explanations and actions.
• Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts with MD and service leads.
• Identify risks, opportunities and financial implications of decisions.
• Analyse performance by service line, office and project including margins and costs.
• Review WIP and project billing with delivery teams; maintain cash flow forecast.
• Manage credit control, debtor reporting and overdue follow-up.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Supervise monthly payroll and company pension administration.
• Coordinate VAT returns, PAYE and other statutory submissions.
• Coordinate year-end accounts and tax information with external accountant.

• Financial management and reporting figures to the senior management team
• Responsible for the management accounts and month end close
• Preparation and presenting monthly management pack
• Analysing budget variances and key financial indicators, with clear explanations and actions
• Developing annual budgets and rolling forecasts with the Managing Director and service leads
• Identifying risks, opportunities and the financial implications of business decisions
• Analysis of performance by service line, office and project, including margins and costs
• Reviewing work in progress and project billing with delivery teams
• Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast and longer-term cash projections, highlighting funding requirements
• Responsible for credit control, debtor reporting and overdue invoice follow up
• Managing purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations and supplier payment schedules
• Managing monthly payroll and company pension administration
• Preparing and coordinating VAT returns, PAYE and other statutory submissions and payments
• Coordinating year end accounts and tax information with the external accountant
• Supervising any finance administration support

You will be a qualified Accountant or be qualified by experience and have experience of working in an SME.

Strong Xero and Excel are essential.
