Job summary

Pure are exclusively recruiting an Accountant for a our Ipswich based client. This is a varied and busy position that would suit a part qualified, or qualified be experience finance professional.

Our client is a multinational market leader in their field, with offices in Ipswich, London and internationally. The Ipswich location is set up as a central services function and has the accounts team set up in the Ipswich town centre office.

Principal Functions:

  1. Plan, control and co-ordinate the overall accounts work.
  2. Monitor and effectively manage the credit control operations.
  3. Review trial balance every month and ensure its correctness.
  4. Review with leadership team the accounts work plan for all accounting activities.
  5. Finalise and close accounts of the branch at quarter-end and year-end.
  6. Coordinate and liaise with other departments and Accounts team of London and Head Office.
  7. Coordinate, supervise and be the referral point for internal and external audits.
  8. Monitor all financial reports from the general and subsidiary ledgers, assist in reconciliation and production of management reports.
  9. Participate on behalf of Accounts in the development and testing of new systems.
  10. Assist with compliance matters on behalf of Accounts.

Key competencies/skills, experience and qualifications

  1. Knowledge of UK and International accounting practice.
  2. Part qualified or qualified by relevant experience.
  3. Ideally knowledge of reporting in a regulated environment.
  4. Comfortable with using accounting software and learning new software if necessary.
  5. Advanced competence in MS Excel.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
