ISx4 is seeking a recently qualified or part-qualified Accountant to run the Finance function and provide timely, accurate management information for senior decision-makers. The role combines hands-on accounting with business leadership, reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations within the COO function.

You will manage multi-currency ledgers, debtor and supplier accounts, payroll support, VAT returns, and monthly management reporting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in management accounting or similar.
  • Qualified or nearly qualified accountant.
  • Strong control mindset with attention to detail.
  • Able to engage with multiple stakeholders and present.

Responsibilities

  • Execute accounting activity in ledgers for multiple currencies and entities.
  • Liaise with Payroll, External Accountant, Procurement and Finance.
  • Manage debtors and end-to-end invoicing processes.
  • Handle supplier accounts, invoices, and payments.
  • Assist in monthly payroll preparation.
  • Assist with UK and ROI VAT returns.
  • Produce monthly management reports and forecasts.
  • Lead process automation design and cost optimisation projects.

Job Role

We are seeking a recently qualified or part qualified Accountant to perform all activities of the Finance function. This role combines hands-on accounting expertise with business leadership, ensuring accurate, controlled and informative management reporting. You will play a key role in providing timely financial information to enable senior management to make strategic decisions. The role reports to the Head of Finance and Operations which is part of the COO function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all accounting activity in the general ledgers for multiple currencies across multiple companies in multiple locations
  • Liaise with external parties including Payroll, External Accountant, Procurement and Finance functions
  • Manage debtors, including the end-to-end invoicing process
  • Manage supplier accounts, including maintaining supplier relationships, processing invoices, and preparing and raising all supplier payments
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll
  • Assist in the preparation of UK and ROI VAT returns
  • Carry out various financial controls including a monthly general ledger reconciliation and substantiation process
  • Assist in the preparation of various management reports each month including results flash, analysis and forecasting.
  • Provide commentary on the results, highlighting areas for attention and recommendations of next actions
  • Cash flow management of a number of bank accounts (Including monthly bank reconciliations)
  • Work on client proposals and government tenders to provide input to and challenge of costings and profit projections
  • Assist in the preparation of full interim and year-end management accounts
  • A key role in leading the design of process automation
Key Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience as a management accountant in a similar finance role
  • Qualified Accountant or Nearly Qualified Accountant working towards qualification
  • A strong control mindset and attention to detail
  • Be able to engage effectively with a number of stakeholders
  • Very strong communication and written presentation skills
  • Very proficient in Microsoft office, especially ExcelTechnology literate
  • Proactive and able to think beyond narrow tasks to the bigger picture, with an awareness of commercial considerations and risks, challenging where appropriate
  • Able to critically examine processes and procedure and have the confidence to make recommendations for improvements
  • Provide support to other areas of the COO department as required
  • Collaborate with all departments, particularly on projects being explored or implemented
