Job summary

Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a leading international professional services organisation to recruit an experienced Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract in the United Kingdom. The role covers financial reporting, operational finance and stakeholder management in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, support statutory statements and year-end audits, and collaborate with senior teams on budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• 3–5 years post-qualified experience.
• Experience in budgeting, month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Delivering financial and operational reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Assisting with statutory financial statements and year-end audit processes.
• Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining controls.
• Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting activities.

Your new role

You will play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring the accurate management of financial operations, reporting and controls. You will work closely with operational and fee-earning teams, providing financial insight and support to aid commercial decision-making. Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and management reporting packs.
• Delivering financial and operational reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements and year-end audit processes.
• Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Managing key financial operations, including accounts payable, intercompany transactions and settlements.
• Leading month-end processes and ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Supporting banking activities, cashflow management and treasury-related tasks.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Building strong relationships with both local and international stakeholders across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experienced within a finance environment, ideally with 3-5 years' post-qualified or industry experience.
• Strong in financial reporting, management accounting and financial controls.
• Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and providing financial guidance.
• Experienced in month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting and audit support.
• Commercially aware with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
