Job summary

Virgate Accounts Ltd in Gloucester is seeking an Account Manager (External Clients) to act as the key liaison between the practice and our external clients. You will deliver Management Accounts reports, compare client performance with industry benchmarks and provide insightful financial analysis.

The role requires strong Excel skills, solid management accounts experience, and the ability to manage multiple client portfolios to tight deadlines while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Management Accounting.
• Client-facing experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Knowledge of Xero desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Organized and adaptable, with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, communicating regularly via phone, email, video calls (Teams), and face-to-face meetings.
• Review and analyze each client's bookkeeping status on a weekly basis, addressing any discrepancies or issues proactively.
• Having deep Management Accounts Knowledge to be able to support and prepare the accounts when deadlines are due to be met.
• Manage the full Management accounts period-end closure process to ensure smooth delivery of accounting reports within ten working days of period end.
• Liaise with the reporting team to guarantee reports are tailored to each client's specific needs.
• Provide expert advice to clients based on financial performance and industry benchmarks.
• Ensure all tasks are accurately tracked and completed using the task management system, maintaining up-to-date client notes and supplier information.
• Support colleagues when needed, ensuring clients continue to receive excellent service, even when team members are out of the office.
