Base pay range

At Gather & Gather, we are known as one of the UK & Ireland's most distinctive workplace catering experts. We are passionate about great food and coffee, and prioritise our employees and customers. We are currently recruiting for a National Account Director to work on a B&I contract with 9 sites across Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, London, and Brighton.

This is a national role, based remotely with travel to sites. Working hours are Monday to Friday.

About the role:

You will share our passion for excellent service, food, and drink. You should be a natural leader and innovator, experienced in fast-paced, customer-facing environments, capable of building and inspiring teams, and communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders (G&G regional teams, clients, client representatives, and Mitie). The role focuses on sales growth and cost efficiency, as it is a nil-cost contract.

As Account Director, you will coordinate with three Gather & Gather regional teams responsible for service delivery and improvements. Strong communication skills are essential to make a positive impact and motivate colleagues.

You will engage with key stakeholders to manage client relationships, liaise with regional operations to meet contract obligations, and contribute to broader business initiatives.

Food Service and Development
  • Ensure consistent delivery of food and service standards as per client expectations.
  • Propose developments in food and service across the estate.
  • Collaborate with the food team to meet client needs.
  • Set clear expectations for food and service quality with operation managers and site teams.
  • Regularly review service and food quality, providing feedback for improvements.
Relationship Management
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients.
  • Participate in monthly review meetings to ensure targets and SLAs are met.
  • Deliver excellent customer service across the portfolio.
  • Gather and act on customer feedback to improve site performance.
Finance
  • Work with regional teams to meet financial targets and protect income.
  • Support strategies to address shortfalls in budgets.
  • Produce and explain weekly and monthly financial reports.
Managing and Developing Teams
  • Drive the achievement of the Group L&D strategy, performance, and talent development.
  • Set goals and performance standards for team members.
  • Recognise and reward performance, and create development plans.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience leading remote and multi-site management teams.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK, including overnight stays.
  • Experience managing fixed-price and/or commercial contracts.
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
  • Deep understanding of catering P&L management.
  • Passion for current trends in food & coffee.
  • Innovative, commercially aware, and skilled in project management.
