Job summary

ACCORD Hospice in Paisley is seeking a Band 6 Physiotherapist to provide palliative and end-of-life care across the hospice, community and patients' homes in Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire. Band 6 Physiotherapist

Community HUB – ACCORD Hospice, Paisley

15 hours - £41,608 - £50,702

An exciting opportunity has arisen at ACCORD Hospice to appoint a Band 6 Physiotherapist to work within our Community HUB and Inpatient Unit, supporting people living with, or affected by, a life-limiting illness across Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire. The post holder will contribute to high-quality, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care in the hospice, community and patients’ own homes, helping individuals to maintain independence, maximise comfort and achieve what matters most to them.

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Physiotherapist with sound clinical reasoning and relevant experience in community rehabilitation, palliative care, oncology, frailty, respiratory care or a related area. Working autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex needs, supporting mobility, function, breathlessness and fatigue management, falls prevention, equipment advice, carer education, goal setting, discharge planning and onward referral.

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate sensitively and effectively with patients, families, carers and professional colleagues, including GPs, district nurses, community teams, acute services and voluntary sector partners. You will contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, service development, audit, education and the safe use of physiotherapy equipment, while maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration. Evidence of continuing professional development, the ability to manage a varied caseload, and confidence working independently in community settings are essential. A driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is required due to the nature of community work. This is a permanent position, working 15 hours per week over 2 days. Salaries are aligned to Agenda for Change. Continuation of NHS Superannuation may be possible where criteria are met.
