Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking an Accommodation Manager at The Lakes Rookley, Ventnor, Isle of Wight to lead the accommodation team and ensure guest readiness. You will manage a large team, drive service quality, handle budgets and planning, and work with other park managers to deliver a memorable stay for guests.

40 hours a week with some evenings and weekends required; salary £30,000 per year. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on involvement in delivering Away Resorts' Attentive Amazing

Qualifications

• Senior management experience in a practical, time-pressured environment.

• Ability to plan and organise workload, training and large teams.
• Solid experience in the hospitality sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accommodation cleaning team and supervisors.
• Own complaints and queries; support supervisors as needed.
• Collaborate with park managers to ensure guests have a great holiday.
• Manage budgets, workload planning and recruitment; control costs.
• Lead by example and delegate to empower the team.

What we need in a nutshell

We need a strong and experienced leader for our accommodation cleaning team. Someone who will ensure that our accommodation sparkles and our cleaners are motivated.

What you’ll be doing

We’re not your average holiday company. Our guests come to our UK resorts to experience a world away from the day-to-day and our job is to surprise and delight them at every turn. As a key member of our park management team, you will have overall responsibility for putting the ‘wow’ factor into our accommodation.

This crucial role includes:

• Managing and motivating of your supervisors and their teams
• Encouraging your supervisors to take ownership of complaints and queries and supporting them when they need it
• Working seamlessly with other managers to ensure guests have a great holiday
• Managing budgets, workload planning and recruitment; keeping staff turnover low and costs under control
• Leading by example; getting stuck in when you need to but delegating to give your team opportunities to shine

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on bank holidays too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

We’ll provide specific park training, but you must:

• Have senior management experience in a practical, time-pressured environment
• Have a leadership style that is open and approachable but that commands respect
• Be able to plan and organise the workload, training and management of a large team
• Have solid experience in the hospitality sector
