Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a skilled Access Control and Door Entry Service Engineer to perform planned and reactive maintenance across social housing and commercial sites in the Sedgefield area. You will service, diagnose faults, and repair door entry and access control systems, with emphasis on safety and high standards.

The role requires experience with VIDEX systems, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work in occupied environments.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with door entry and access control systems.
  • Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing access control systems.
  • Must have experience working with VIDEX systems.
  • Experience working within social housing or multi-site environments.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Experience with fire alarms and intruder alarms is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on door entry and access control systems
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs efficiently
  • Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues
  • Undertake annual servicing of door entry systems and other cyclical maintenance works
  • Complete emergency lighting checks
  • Install new joinery systems where required
  • Ensure all timesheets are completed and submitted within required deadlines
  • Work flexibly to support business and customer requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service while working in occupied environments

Access Control and Door Entry Service Engineer/ Service engineer

Location: Sedgefield

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £34,000 per annum

We are looking skilled and motivated Service Engineers who is qualified in Door Entry and Access Control, providing planned and reactive maintenance services across social housing and commercial environments.

In this varied role, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing access control and door entry systems, as well as carrying out cyclical servicing activities including emergency lighting checks and annual system services

About the Role:

As a Service Engineer, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on door entry and access control systems across a range of properties. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, completing repairs efficiently and ensuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
