What is the role?
Southampton Football Club are currently looking for host family providers to support our Academy players by providing a home away from home.
The host family providers will help fulfil the club’s duty of care concerning our young people by ensuring appropriate accommodation and a nurturing environment is provided throughout the season. Our placements vary from one/two-night stays to seven nights per week, and we are looking for host families who can offer either of these placement types to our young people aged between 15–18 years old.
You will be offering a ‘Home from Home’ environment for our Academy players, which will allow them to engage in the Football programme while supporting their individual needs to ensure they have a stable environment away from the pitch.
What will you be doing?
Our comprehensive application and screening process will include DBS checks (including all residents aged 16 or older), visits throughout the season and references.
If successful, you agree to adhering to any further and ongoing requirements of Host Families, as outlined in the application process, including home visits from our Player Care and Safeguarding Teams.
This is a paid role but most importantly this is a rewarding opportunity and a chance to join our wider community.
We would expect potential hosts to be able to offer sole use of a bedroom, or potentially a room large enough that it could be shared with another player. Breakfast and main meal to be provided by host and adequate space for the player to store a few items within the bedroom.
