At GoodOaks, we're proud of the professional yet personal care and support GoodOaks provides. We are delighted to offer our Social Circles service to clients in the Bournemouth and Poole area. We are an award-winning home care company, striving to be the go-to provider of quality care by valuing, developing, and rewarding the dedicated individuals who work with us.

We’re looking for a Companionship and Activity Host to join our Bournemouth and Poole team. Based out of your own home, you’ll provide meaningful, person-centred care and attention for up to four older people keen to be sociable and find companionship. Your compassionate work will provide a welcoming environment for our clients, person-led activities, and a delicious lunch.

What will you do?

1. Care for a maximum of 4 older clients in your own home on hosting days.
2. Collect and return to your clients at the start and end of the day.
3. Offer a nutritious, home-cooked hot lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
4. Provide a safe and engaging environment to help support our clients' wellbeing.
5. Create meaningful interactions that stimulate mental and social engagement.
6. Deliver additional support with mobility, comprehension, and medications.

Who are you?

1. Previous care experience isn’t essential, but you can demonstrate skills and qualities for the role.
2. You’re empathetic and able to read and respond to the emotional needs of older people.
3. You gain great satisfaction from delivering engagement and care to people.
4. You’re an excellent listener with the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds.
5. Always bring a positive and flexible attitude to the role.
6. A full driving licence, access to a 5-door car, and the ability to transport clients.
7. Your home must have easy ground-floor access, a downstairs toilet, and minimal steps.

What do we offer?

1. Part-time working one to three days per week whilst ‘hosting’ from 10am – 2pm.
2. £110 per day & food costs at £11 per person.
3. All expenses covered including mileage at 35p a mile.
4. Direct and ongoing leadership support both in-person and remotely.
5. Fully supported risk assessments, health and safety, and activity guidance.
6. Paid training will be provided and ongoing development including food hygiene.
7. Blue Light Card discount scheme.
8. Paid DBS check if required.
