Job summary

David Ross Education Trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a clerical and administrative role within our academy network. The successful candidate will provide general clerical support, handle financial administration, reception duties and maintain records to support senior staff and external agencies.

You will work closely with parents, carers and staff, manage mail and contribute to academy visits and events, while upholding confidentiality and integrity in all duties.

Qualifications

  • NOS Level 2 in business and administration or equivalent knowledge.
  • GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) knowledge and experience.
  • Full, clean driving licence (for posts that support other Academies).
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality and integrity.

Responsibilities

About this Role

  • Provide general clerical support including clerical processes, word processing, IT based tasks requiring knowledge of various ICT packages and operation of office equipment

  • Undertake general financial administration such as processing orders, collecting monies and undertake basic book keeping, such as for petty cash

  • Undertake reception duties, act as first point of contact in response to and deal with enquiries either by telephone or face-to-face and sign in visitors, deal with lost property etc.

  • Produce lists, information and data as requested by senior staff or external agencies (e.g. standard/statutory returns)

  • Maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems.

  • First point of contact for sick pupils, liaise with parents / carers /staff

  • Open, sort and distribute incoming mail and post outgoing mail

  • Assist with arrangements for academy visits and events

  • Maintain stocks and supplies, selling and distributing as required

  • Provide administrative support for meetings and take notes at meetings

  • Assist with the administration of academy lettings and other uses of academy

Who we are looking for

  • Working at or towards national occupational standards (NOS) in business and administration level 2 and knowledge / skills equivalent to current qualifications level 2 is desirable.

  • Educated to NVQ level 2 / GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent knowledge and experience.

  • A full, clean driving licence (for posts that support other Academies).

  • To be a skilled user of Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce, create and edit documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Able to always maintain the strictest confidentiality and integrity.

  • Sensitivity when collaborating work with colleagues at all levels.

  • Highly organised and efficient and able to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well to a wider range of stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits

NJC4 FTE £26,016- pro rata £22,851.89 per annum


This is a permanent role working 37 hours a week 39 weeks a year - Term Time Only


. Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 4.00pm Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm.
