Job summary

Philip Morant School and College is seeking an Academic Mentor to support students who need additional assistance. The role focuses on English as an Additional Language and interventions, within a secondary school setting.

The post is fixed term until 31st August 2027 and offers opportunities to develop within the Sigma Trust network, including collaboration with other schools and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• A graduate who is considering teaching as a career.
• Successful recent experience working with children in a learning environment.
• The ability to use initiative and work without direct supervision, taking responsibility for tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervising a discreet provision in the school for students who cannot access a full-time provision.
• Coordinating day-to-day educational provision for young people in the provision, especially those with English as an Additional Language.
• Providing support to students in all curriculum areas across the school or to students with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties.
