Job summary

Mossbourne Federation Academy is seeking an Academic Mentor to join the Pastoral Team. You will support teaching and learning with a caseload of students needing extra help, including meetings with students, parents and other stakeholders.

As part of Mossbourne Federation, you contribute to an anti-racist, inclusive environment and support safeguarding responsibilities. The role offers hybrid planning and preparation time across primary and secondary academies.

Job description

The Academic Mentor is a key member of the Pastoral Team whose focus is to support teaching and learning in the academy. The Pastoral Team is led by a Vice Principal and compromised of Heads of School, the Heads of Year, the Head of SEND Inclusion, the Pastoral and Safeguarding Administrator. The Pastoral Team is essential in maintaining the purposeful and disciplined environment in which students excel. The Pastoral Team supports the daily smooth running of the Academy and is also intrinsic in supporting the personal development of the students in our care. The Pastoral Team is highly visible at all times around the Academy and form the Safeguarding Team (Designated Safeguarding Leads) at the Academy. The Academic Mentor will have a case load of students who require a layer of support above and beyond the universal offer which may include individual meetings with students, parents and other stakeholders.
