This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that will require little to no travel into our Coventry head office or campuses. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About our Department:

Our Centre for Academic Persistence is focussed on helping and supporting students through their first-year university journey. We are a large team who are passionate about supporting students realise their potential. We do this through several different programmes including our Foundation Year; supporting the CertHE programme; our On Track initiative for students with level-progression support or assistance resitting or retaking modules; Pass First Time (Academic study skills to help pass courses) and the university new student orientation.

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced administrator whowill play a crucial role in enhancing the support services provided to students, thereby improving retention rates and academic success within Academic Persistence.

  • Coordination of Support Services: The Academic Administrator will oversee the coordination of various support services, including tutoring, mentoring, and academic advising, ensuring students receive timely and effective assistance.
  • Data Management and Analysis: By supporting the Data Analyst with any analysis ofstudent performance data, the administrator will identify trends and areas of concern, allowing for targeted interventions to support at-risk students.
  • Undertake work load planningfor the departmentto ensure all orientations and classes are covered, in collaboration withAcademic Resources
  • Oversee onboarding of new starterswithin the Centre
  • Maintain accurate and robust administrative systems to ensure up to date information is accessibleto those that require it.
  • Use own initiative to identify areas of improvement and enhancement in supporting academiccolleagues, for example in making positive changes to systems and processes
About You:

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Extensive experience of using Microsoft tools for administrative support.
  • Demonstrate you haveorganised and planned internal and external meetings and events, and be used to dealing with conflicting demands, and working under pressure in an effective and positive manner.

Desirable

  • Experience in the HE sector and knowledge of level 3, Foundation Year, and/or level 4 university programmes would be an advantage.
