Job summary

Academics in Slough is seeking an ABA Assistant to support children with additional needs at a specialist school. This role is ideal for psychology graduates seeking hands-on experience in ABA, behaviour and special education.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, apply ABA-based strategies to learning, help students develop independence and social skills, and collaborate with teachers to implement individual learning plans. Salary £93-£110 per day; hours 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

  • Psychology graduate background preferred.
  • Interest in psychology, behaviour, education or therapy.
  • Patient, compassionate and enthusiastic.
  • A confident communicator and positive role model.
  • Able to remain calm and supportive under pressure.
  • Willingness to work with children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
  • Use ABA-based strategies to support learning, communication and positive behaviour.
  • Help students develop independence, confidence and social skills.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children.
  • Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support individual learning plans.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback on students' development.
