Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Assistant Practitioner for the AAC WEST team in Bristol. The role combines direct patient work with specialist communication technology to help people with complex needs participate more fully in daily life.

You will prepare equipment, programme AAC software, and deliver training and 1:1 sessions to patients and carers. The post supports MDT assessments and contributes to admin and service development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for assessment and loan.
• Programme equipment with relevant information as directed by MDT.
• Provide training to patients and their carers on the care and programming of communication aids prior to the short term loan of equipment.
• Deliver software training sessions to those using AAC.
• Deliver 1:1 support sessions to patients as directed by MDT.
• Support the MDT with admin during assessments.
