Job summary

AAB is offering a 12-month placement for a growth-minded student to join their Audit and Business Advisory team in Newry and other offices. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional services setting, supporting client assignments and developing technical knowledge with mentors from experienced professionals.

We welcome motivated individuals currently studying towards any degree, with strong attention to detail, numerical ability, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audit working papers and financial statement reviews.
• Assist with testing financial controls and verifying supporting documentation.
• Help gather, organise, and analyse financial information for audit and advisory engagements.
• Maintain accurate records, audit files, and documentation in line with professional standards.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet client deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to business advisory projects, providing insights and support to help clients achieve their goals.
• Develop an understanding of accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practice.

The Opportunity

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Placement Student to join our Audit and Business Advisory team for a 12-month placement. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a professional services environment, develop technical tax knowledge, and learn from experienced tax specialists. Working as part of a supportive team, you will assist with a range of client assignments while developing valuable commercial, analytical and communication skills.

We have exciting placement opportunities available in our Newry, Dungannon, Mallusk and Belfast offices.

Entry Requirements

• Assist the preparation of audit working papers and financial statement reviews.
• Assist with testing financial controls and verifying supporting documentation.
• Help gather, organise, and analyse financial information for audit and advisory engagements.
