Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a skilled Science Technician to join a state-of-the-art science department in West London. You will provide essential laboratory support across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to ensure safe, smooth delivery of practical lessons up to A-Level.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, complying with COSHH and CLEAPSS, maintaining stock, and assisting staff during demonstrations and STEM clubs. A degree or technical qualification and DBS are required.

Qualifications

• A degree in Science or a relevant technical qualification.
• Experience as a Science Technician in a secondary school, college, or laboratory setting.
• Sound knowledge of COSHH and CLEAPSS safety regulations.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; able to work independently.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to process one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apparatus, equipment, and chemical solutions for lessons and exams.
• Ensure compliance with COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines across laboratories.
• Maintain stock levels, perform routine maintenance, and order supplies.
• Safely store, handle and dispose of hazardous materials and waste.
• Assist staff during demonstrations, open days, and STEM clubs.
