Job summary

A Bournemouth-based scholarly secondary school in Dorset seeks an analytical and engaging Teacher of Economics for a full-time, permanent role starting in January. You will deliver A-Level Microeconomics and Macroeconomics and GCSE modules, guiding Sixth Form students through policy, market structures and data interpretation.

You will work with the Social Sciences department, support UCAS applications, lead revision, and contribute to department assessment cycles.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS) or UK credentials with an honours degree in Economics or Finance.
• Deep subject knowledge of A-Level Microeconomics and Macroeconomics specifications.
• Proven track record or potential for strong A-Level Economics outcomes.
• Active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Teach A-Level Microeconomics and Macroeconomics to Sixth Form students.
• Guide Sixth Form through data interpretation and economic diagrams.
• Support UCAS applications for Economics, Finance, and PPE degrees.
• Manage department assessment cycles and revision schedules.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor and support student wellbeing.
