Job summary

Connect Grp UK are recruiting an experienced Air Conditioning (A/C) Engineer to join our maintenance team in Central London. This hands-on role covers PPM and reactive call-outs across commercial and residential projects, ensuring HVAC and refrigeration systems run safely and efficiently.

You will carry out scheduled servicing, fault-finding and repairs on split, VRF/VRV, chillers and AHUs, handle gas, and complete service reports and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an A/C / HVAC / Refrigeration Engineer.
• F-Gas Category 1 qualification (essential).
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of A/C and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled PPM servicing on air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems in line with maintenance schedules.
• Respond to reactive call-outs and breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing faults efficiently.
• Complete fault-finding, repairs, and part replacements on a range of A/C systems (split, VRF/VRV, chillers, AHUs, etc.).
• Carry out gas handling, refrigerant recovery, and re-gassing in line with F-Gas regulations.
• Complete accurate service reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, in line with health & safety and industry regulations.
• Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts.
• Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency call-outs.

The Role

This is a hands-on role covering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outs across a portfolio of commercial/residential projects. You'll be responsible for keeping HVAC and refrigeration systems running safely and efficiently.

• Carry out scheduled PPM servicing on air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems in line with maintenance schedules
• Respond to reactive call-outs and breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing faults efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an A/C / HVAC / Refrigeration Engineer
• F-Gas Category 1 qualification (essential)
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent)
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of A/C and refrigeration systems
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
