Job summary

Wienerberger Ltd in Denton, North Manchester, is seeking a Production Shift Manager to lead a high-volume manufacturing shift and drive health, safety and environmental best practices on site.

You will report to the Plant Manager and oversee production activities, aiming for optimal yield, quality and efficiency while promoting continuous improvement and staff development. The role includes 7 on/off shift pattern and UK-wide collaboration.

Qualifications

• You will have strong experience in a production/manufacturing environment delivering high-volume production activity.
• Health and safety is a top priority with a focus on promoting a safe working culture.
• Experience of lean manufacturing techniques
• Experience implementing continuous improvement activities
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written)
• Strong experience in line management and related HR activities
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Adaptability to change

Responsibilities

• Ensuring effective manufacturing operations which produce to target volumes, yield and efficiency
• Analysing production data to identify and drive opportunities to improve performance
• Measure / evaluate results of improvement actions and the cost gains/return in performance against investment
• Use problem solving techniques and tools (RCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc) to identify and resolve any manufacturing issues
• Perform and review Risk Assessments and develop Safe working procedures
• Work closely with quality and maintenance departments to support a collaborative culture
• Identify training requirements of staff
• Investigate any accidents, injuries or near misses
• Ensure that HR policies and procedures are followed
