Job summary

Driver Hire Leicester is seeking a 7.5T HGV Driver for a busy fruit and vegetable wholesaler in Leicester. The role involves delivering fresh produce to numerous customers with regular, ongoing work and consistent hours.

The position offers an hourly pay rate of £13.85, with hours starting at 06:00am, Monday to Friday with an odd Saturday. A permanent contract and team support are provided by Driver Hire Leicester.

Qualifications

• Valid 7.5T / Category C1 licence.
• CPC and Digi Tachograph.
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Multi-drop delivery experience preferred.
• Experience within fresh produce, food or wholesale distribution would be an advantage.
• Physically fit, as some manual handling is involved.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 7.5T vehicle delivering fresh fruit and vegetables to customers.
• Complete multiple deliveries throughout the day.
• Load and unload goods.
• Check delivery notes and ensure orders are delivered accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service at each delivery.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and on time.
