Job summary

Birds Bakery in Derby (Ascot Drive) is recruiting experienced 7.5t drivers for our Transport team. Full-time roles (42 hours/week) with early starts from 3.30am/4am to 11am/12pm, Monday to Saturday. Deliver freshly made products to shops and return empty racks to the bakery.

Qualifications

• C1 Licence required for driving 7.5t vehicles.
• CPC (Driver Qualification Card) required.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload vehicles; manual handling of rolling equipment.
• Ensure loads are secured per procedures and Safe Systems of Work.
• Perform daily vehicle defect checks and log findings.

Whether you’re looking for full-time or part-time hours, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in bringing our freshly made, much-loved products to our local shops.

Purpose

If you are an early bird (pun intended!) we have opportunities for experienced, full-time 7.5 tonne Drivers to join our Transport team based at our prestigious Ascot Drive Bakery. You will be delivering Birds’ freshly made products to our shops and returning empty racks and cabinets to the Bakery.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload vehicles; manual handling of rolling equipment and no hand balling involved
• Ensure vehicle loads are safe and secured with the appropriate restraints as per Company procedures and Safe Systems of Work
• Perform daily vehicle defect checks and log as necessary.

Shifts

Full-time days of work are Monday to Saturday. Hours of work are 3.30am/4am to 11am/12pm, 42 hours per week.

Experience

Applicants must be of smart appearance and ideally have good knowledge of the local area but this is not essential as full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• C1 Licence
• A valid CPC Driver Qualification Card
• Digi-Card
• A UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 points (a clean licence would be preferrable).
