Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a reliable 7.5t Driver for night shifts in Wigston/Leicester area. Operate rigid vehicles on planned routes, transporting mail and parcels to distribution points with a focus on safety and on-time delivery.

You will perform pre- and post-shift checks, load/unload cargo, and complete paperwork, all while adhering to route plans and company policies. Previous 7.5t experience and a full UK licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires Valid UK C1 Licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no serious endorsements.
• 1 year 7.5t driving experience in logistics or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.

Job description

This temporary 7.5T Driver role in Wigston involves safely operating a rigid vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery points, transporting mail and parcels. Working night shifts with various start times, the driver ensures goods reach their destinations securely and on schedule. Manpower UK seeks reliable, professional candidates with a full driving licence, prior experience of 7.5-tonne vehicles, strong knowledge of road safety and the ability to follow route plans accurately.

Pay ranges from £17.02 to £26.99 per hour, reflecting the ongoing contract and unsocial hours.

Working Hours: Nights, various start times

What you’ll be doing

• Safely operate 7.5t vehicles on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.

• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the wider operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Multiple drops per shift, depending on route assigned.
