Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting timber lengths and composite decking safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various driving tasks, including lifting.

Responsibilities

1. Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for the delivery of goods to designated locations.
2. Lifting and delivering items such as timber and decking (mainly taken off on site by receiver).
3. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, maintaining the integrity of all items transported.
4. Initially circa 3 days per week but will lead to a temp-perm position.
5. Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
6. Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required.
7. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
8. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safe driving practices at all times.
9. Assist in the maintenance of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.

Experience

1. Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential, with a proven track record of safe driving practices.
2. A valid commercial driving licence (C1) is required to operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle.
3. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are necessary for managing deliveries efficiently.
4. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members effectively.
