Job Description: 7.5 Tonne Driver

The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Barnsley area. We are looking for several dedicated 7.5 Tonne drivers to join the team on night shifts.

Hours:

Shifts are scheduled from Monday to Saturday (Sunday night to Friday night), with start times around midnight to 2am. Shifts typically last 8-10 hours.

Job Type:

Long-term ongoing employment.

The Role:

• Pick up the vehicle from our client’s site and deliver to the customer location.
• Load the van with designated items, then seal the vehicle after loading (a photograph of the interior will be taken).
• Drive to a client’s depot to unload the vehicle under supervision, documenting the unloaded items with a photo.
• Return the vehicle empty to the original depot.
• Occasionally perform collection runs as required.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with 7.5 Tonne entitlement (category C1).
• At least 3 months proven experience.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on your licence (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of an assessment, including a theory test (based on drivers’ hours and road laws) and a practical test (yard reversing and short driving test).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Ability to work unsociable hours.
