Job description

Driver Hire Leeds West is searching for experienced 7.5 Tonne drivers to work with a leading tool and equipment hire company in the local area. If you're skilled with ratchet straps, comfortable using PDAs, and happy with handballing equipment, we want to hear from you!

The Role:

This is a dynamic driving role where you'll be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of various tools and equipment. You'll typically complete around 10 drops a day within the local area, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient operations. Your ability to secure diverse loads using ratchet straps and manage deliveries via a PDA will be essential. You'll also need to be prepared for an amount of handballing as part of the job.

Key Responsibilities: As a 7.5 Tonne Driver you will:

• Delivering and collecting tools and equipment (approx. 10 drops daily)


• Proficiently using ratchet straps to secure equipment during transit


• Operating a PDA for accurate delivery and collection tracking


• Performing handballing of various tools and equipment


• Maintaining a professional and helpful attitude with customers


• Planning and executing efficient delivery routes

What we're looking for: 7.5 Tonne Drivers must have:

• Valid 7.5 Tonne (C1) licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho card


• Demonstrable experience with ratchet straps and load securing


• Familiarity with PDAs for delivery management


• A willingness to undertake handballing duties


• A good level of physical fitness


• Strong customer service skills


• Good local geographical knowledge is a plus
