Job summary

Driver Hire Basingstoke and Newbury is recruiting 7.5 Tonne Drivers to support local clients across Basingstoke, Newbury, Thatcham, Hook and Hungerford. Work days are flexible; typically Monday to Friday with occasional weekends.

You will drive for various clients, from building merchants to supermarkets, and be the face of Driver Hire with strong customer service. Responsibilities include duties in a timely manner, daily vehicle checks, reliability, and route planning using Sat Nav.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with at least 1 year of experience.
• Current Drivers Qualification Card (DQC) and Driver CPC.
• Over 21 with at least 1 year of driving experience.

• Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks.
• Be reliable, polite and friendly; provide good customer service as the face of Driver Hire.

Driver Hire are the UK’s largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company, with offices throughout the UK. We provide driving and logistics staff to both local and national clients across a variety of sectors, offering flexible and reliable staffing solutions.

Driver Hire Basingstoke and Newbury are looking to recruit 7.5 Tonne Drivers to help support the work that we are doing to support our local clients with their temporary staffing needs. The clients we support are based through Basingstoke, Newbury, Thatcham, Hook and Hungerford.

The work varies from client to client, and you could be driving for a range of different clients from building merchants to accident repair centres, construction sites or a supermarket.

The days can be flexible to you, working as many or as few days as you wish. Generally the work is between Monday and Friday, but there may be occasional weekend working as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out designated duties in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks
• Be reliable, polite, and friendly.
• Good customer service is vital as you will be the face of Driver Hire.
• Have the ability to plan routes, and be able to use a Sat Nav system.

REQUIREMENTS

• Full UK Driving License, with at least 1 years experience
• Current Drivers Card and Drivers Qualification Card
• Must be over the age of 21, with at least 1 years driving experience
• Previous commercial driving work would be advantageous, but not essential.
• A current DBS check is desirable.

HOURS, PAY & BENEFITS

• £14.89 – £25.19 per hour– Mondays to Fridays, with enhanced rates for weekend work.
• Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours per day (full day), or 4 hours (half day).
