Job summary

poltronesofà is hiring a 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver for our Coventry Distribution Centre. You will deliver and install furniture at customers’ homes, working on a 44-hour, four-day week with Sundays off. A Category C1 licence, tachograph card and CPC are required, with prior delivery experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must have Category C1 licence, a driver digital tachograph card and CPC qualification.
• Previous furniture delivery experience is a plus but not essential; personality and willingness to learn are valued.
• Knowledge of safety requirements for operating a vehicle and tacograph regulations.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and installing furniture in customers’ homes.
• Coordinate delivery schedule with crew mate.
• Assist loading/unloading furniture as part of the distribution centre team.
• Provide excellent service and encourage customer feedback.
• Carry out safety checks to ensure team safety and driving compliance.
• Work 44 hours over 4 days with Sundays off; flexibility for peak periods.

What’s the opportunity?

Previous furniture delivery experience can be a benefit, but we find personality and the ability to learn new skills more important.

What does the role involve?

• Delivering and installing furniture in customers’ homes


• Working through a delivery schedule with the support of your crew mate


• Work as part of a wider distribution centre team in helping to load and unload furniture onto our vehicles


• Providing a brilliant service to our customers and encouraging their feedback


• Making sure the team is safe by carrying out checks and driving safely


• Work 44 hours over 4 days with every Sunday off. Flexibility would be required in peak periods

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience within a driving role


• Category C1 vehicle licence


• Driver digital tachograph card

• Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements of operating a vehicle and is familiar with the use and regulation of tacographs


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to follow process and procedures

• Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling as this role involves heavy lifting
