Job summary

DPD Group in Preston is seeking a reliable 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver to manage a local route and ensure on-time parcel deliveries with a friendly, professional approach.

You will handle 40–50 stops daily, use Saturn handheld devices to track progress, load and unload parcels safely, and represent the company with a strong, solution-focused attitude on every doorstep.

Qualifications

• A valid 7.5 Tonne (C1) licence and DQC/CPC accreditation.
• Ideally 6 months' recent driving experience with 7.5 Tonne vehicles.
• Physically active and comfortable with lifting heavy parcels.
• Professional, approachable attitude and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 7.5 Tonne vehicle on local routes with 40–50 stops.
• Use Saturn handheld devices to manage deliveries and keep records.
• Be the friendly face customers see each day and provide excellent service.
• Load and unload parcels using hand trucks and other equipment.

The Role

We’re looking for someone to take the wheel and own a designated local route. You aren’t just moving boxes; you’re the final boss of the delivery game, ensuring every parcel hits its destination with 10/10 service. With around 40 - 50 stops a day, you’ll be the ultimate problem-solver, navigating your community and making life easier for our customers.Your role is vital in providing a service that genuinely makes a difference to our customers.

• Drive the Vibe: Get behind the wheel of a 7.5 Tonne vehicle. You’ll be cruising local routes, keeping it safe, professional, and efficient.
• Master the Tech: No paper maps here. You’ll use our industry-leading Saturn handheld devices. It’s basically your mission control for tracking progress, managing deliveries, and staying ahead of the game.
• The Main Character Energy: You’re the friendly face our customers see every day. Whether it’s a quick "hello" or a helpful drop-off, your energy defines the DPD experience.
• The Hustle: You’ll be loading and unloading parcels, using high-end gear like sack barrows and hand trucks to handle the heavy lifting safely. Think of it as a paid workout while you're on the move.
