Job summary

Octagon Group in Royston is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to create, prove and optimise programmes for precision components. You will work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure parts meet specification and are manufactured efficiently.

The role requires strong CNC programming skills, experience with CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Siemens NX, and familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens controls, plus solid GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Siemens NX.
• Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens) and good engineering drawing/GD&T skills.

Responsibilities

• Creating and optimising CNC programmes from drawings and 3D models.
• Setting up and proving programmes on 3-axis and 5-axis milling and turning machines.
• Selecting tooling and cutting strategies to improve quality and cycle times.
• Troubleshooting machining issues and maintaining programme documentation.
