Job summary

Vivo Talent is seeking an experienced CNC 5-axis Machinist/Programmer to join a precision engineering manufacturer in Gloucester. The role focuses on setting and operating Mazak VARIAXIS J500/J600 to produce tight-tolerance components.

You will read engineering drawings, perform tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments, and conduct first-off and in-process inspections to ensure quality and efficiency. Overtime opportunities and a permanent, full-time position are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Experience with Mazak machinery and Mazatrol controls preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of precision machining techniques and tooling.
• Experience working to tight tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Mazak VARIAXIS J500 and J600 machining centres.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Perform tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections.
