Job summary

Interaction Engineering in Chatteris is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist for a contract role. You will handle offline programming, 5-axis setting and operation, and contribute to process optimisation in a precision engineering environment serving aerospace/defence sectors.

The ideal candidate brings outstanding PowerMill and PowerShape skills, CATIA CAD data handling, and a proven track record with FANUC or HEIDENHAIN controls, with meticulous attention to detail and strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in precision CNC environments.
• Strong PowerMill and PowerShape experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience with FANUC and/or HEIDENHAIN controls.
• Experience creating/manipulating CATIA CAD data.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Offline 5-axis programming and CNC setting.
• Develop and optimise machining processes.
• Produce operator instructions and inspection docs.
• Support fixture design and tooling.
• Monitor machine utilisation and efficiency.
• Prove out first-off programmes and ensure production readiness.
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues.
• Create SOPs and improve CNC processes.
