Job summary

PDQ Engineering Recruitment & Training Services Lt requests a CNC Milling Programmer / Operator / Setter to program, set up and run 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC mills, with Heidenhain controls and related experience for large parts.

You will read drawings, document tooling layouts, and work safely to deliver right-first-time parts while meeting tight deadlines. Training is available, and a strong quality focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship preferred but not strictly required.
• Minimum 5 years programming and operating 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machines.
• Proficient in Heidenhain controls with Fanuc experience preferable.
• Ability to own quality and complete quality reports using MTE.
• Experience on Doosan, Matsuura and Mazak machines.
• Ability to produce parts to tight tolerances and large parts up to 2.5m.
• Overhead crane training beneficial but not essential; training can be provided.
• Strong communication, reliability and a positive can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC Milling Machines.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to enable programming and manufacture to right-first-time quality.
• Creating layout sheets to document tooling, tools, setups and machine parameters.
• Work independently to meet high standards and deadlines.
• Qualify and document own work using measuring equipment.
• Support and train others when needed.
• Maintain safety, PPE compliance and a clean workplace.
• Suggest time/cost saving ideas to supervisor.
