Job summary

Slack & Parr Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate, edit and program 5-axis CNC Mill/Turn machines (Mori Seiki/PumaMX) in Derby. The role involves optimising tool paths, validating programmes and monitoring operations to meet exacting tolerances.

Applicants should be apprentice trained with comprehensive knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as Alphacam, Kreo and Fanuc. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position with on-site parking and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained with hands-on machining experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Alphacam, Kreo and Fanuc.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Operate, edit and program 5-axis CNC Mill/Turn machines (Mori Seiki/PumaMX).
• Optimise tool paths and configure machine settings.
• Validate programmes and monitor machining operations to ensure quality.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality.
