Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking a 4PL Contract Manager for our Northampton SDC site (NN7 2FR). This hybrid role allows up to three days remote per week and requires regular travel, including international trips.

You will lead key global pharmaceutical logistics contracts to ensure operational efficiency, service levels and financial performance for both the customer and Yusen. Core hours are 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Extensive logistics management experience within 3PL/4PL pharma environments.
• Strong stakeholder and customer relationship management skills.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing P&L and commercial aspects.
• Final mile experience across multiple modes is desirable.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Engage with key customer stakeholders to maintain relationships and drive growth.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews with customers.
• Lead commercial negotiations for contractual renewals and annual reviews.
• Act as escalation point for customers and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Manage Profit & Loss for customer accounts and target budgeted results.
• Oversee cost-saving initiatives and ensure quality/compliance across contracts.
• Review cross-contract efficiencies and propose beneficial initiatives.
• Develop and coach a team within the Yusen Logistics PDR framework.

The Role

We are looking for a 4PL Contract Manager to be based at our Northampton SDC site (NN7 2FR). This is a hybrid role with up to three days remote working per week (subject to business requirements). It also requires regular travel to visit customers, particularly European travel.

As a 4PL Contract Manager, you will lead key global pharmaceutical logistics contracts to ensure that operational efficiency, customer service and financial performance are met and/or exceeded for both the customer and Yusen.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience). The core working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with key customer stakeholders to maintain existing relationships and provide a platform for further organic growth.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews with customers, ensuring accurate information is presented and any remedial actions are understood and implemented.
• Lead commercial negotiations for contractual renewals and annual reviews.
• Act as a key escalation point for customers, ensuring issues are managed in a professional and timely manner, and appropriate actions taken.
• Manage Profit & Loss for customer accounts, ensuring budgetary targets are achieved.
• Oversee implementation of profit enhancing initiatives and actively seek to maximise cost savings.
• Ensure all quality and compliance requirements are upheld by team and partners.
• Review cross-contract efficiencies and work with wider team to propose initiatives that benefit both Yusen and the customer.
• Develop, coach and lead a team of direct reports, including one-to-one management within the broader Yusen Logistics PDR programme.

Key Requirements

• Extensive overall logistics management experience, preferably in a 3PL/4PL pharmaceutical environment.
• Good communications skills, with strong proven ability in managing stakeholder and customer relationships.
• Strong team leadership skills.
• Proven experience managing P&L and commercials.
• Final mile experience across all modes is desirable.
• Excellent presentation delivery skills.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office platforms including Excel.
