Job summary

University of Birmingham is seeking an In vivo Microscopy Specialist Technician to operate and develop the 4D in vivo microCT facility within the Biomedical Imaging Facility. You will train users, support experiments, and help optimise imaging workflows across a diverse research portfolio.

The role requires a degree-level qualification, strong imaging experience, and the ability to manage data and coordinate facility activities.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent; relevant experience welcomed.
• Experience with in vivo imaging models and data handling.
• Knowledge of imaging workflows and data analysis is required.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist 4D in vivo microCT and microscopy support.
• Deliver training and guidance on imaging workflows and equipment.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring proper documentation.
• Coordinate scheduling, data management, and user engagement activities.
