Job description

My client is seeking an 3rd line engineer to join their IT Helpdesk team and work with their IT Projects professional services team in Colchester, Essex.

The successful candidate will provide a wide variety of IT services to their customers predominantly focused on Microsoft, VMWare, Hyper‑V, Citrix, Cisco, and SonicWall technologies. This will include project planning, management and implementation as well as issue resolution & consultancy services as required. You will also be required to assist their IT Helpdesk Engineers as a point of escalation.

Desired Experience

• Worked in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment
• Proven history of successful consultancy, project planning & implementation
• 3rd line technical skills in Microsoft Windows Server technologies
• 3rd line technical skills in scoping & implementing Intel based server hardware
• 3rd line technical skills in LANs, WANs, Firewalls, VPNs, Cisco preferred
• Virtualisation (both Hyper‑V & VMWare), Storage, Disaster Recovery, Scoping hardware requirements
• Windows Server, Exchange Server, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Office, Office 365 migrations
• 3rd line technical skills in storage systems, NetApp preferable
• 3rd line technical skills in Citrix XenApp

You will have access to multiple training platforms and they will cover Microsoft examinations costs.
