Job summary

Computacenter in Derby on-site is seeking an Application Packager to configure and deploy software using modern packaging technologies in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will script with PowerShell, work with MSIX/MSI/App-V, and support MECM/Intune deployments while ensuring lifecycle management and high quality.

SC clearance eligibility is required; join a collaborative team delivering secure enterprise software solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on packaging and scripting experience.
• Experience with MSI, App-V, MSIX and packaging formats.
• Strong MECM/Intune deployment knowledge.
• Understanding of application lifecycle management.
• Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders.
• SC clearance eligibility.
• Familiarity with Python, Ansible, and shell scripting.

What you’ll do

As an Application Packager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the efficient configuration and deployment of software applications. You’ll work with modern packaging technologies and follow best practices to meet the needs of our customers, maintaining high quality and compatibility standards. From scripting and testing to process improvement and documentation, your input will directly influence our project success.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Packaging applications to agreed formats (MSIX, MSI, App-V) in line with customer standards
• Ensuring compatibility across environments and meeting defined quality benchmarks
• Collaborating within Agile/Scrum teams and contributing to continuous improvement
• Using PowerShell and scripting tools to automate and streamline processes
• Supporting deployment using MECM/Intune and understanding full application lifecycle
• Documenting processes and solutions to industry and customer standards

What you’ll need

We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical and communication skills.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Hands-on application packaging and scripting experience (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)
• Expertise in MSI, App-V, MSIX technologies Strong experience with MECM/Intune deployment tools
• Solid understanding of application lifecycle management
• Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders
• SC clearance eligibility
• Experience with Omnissa Workspace One, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure Automation
• Familiarity with scripting tools like Python, Ansible, Shell
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and automation tools
• Awareness of ITIL, ISO 20000, ISO 27000 standards
