Niantic Spatial is seeking a Research Engineer to advance Geospatial Visual Localization technologies. You will design and evaluate 3D vision and deep learning approaches, train large multi-modal models, and publish results with leading researchers.

You will work with data from diverse capture modalities and deploy robust solutions at production scale, ensuring accurate localization across environments and maps.

Formación

• Strong grounding in 3D computer vision, deep learning, robotics, or related field.
• Experience with multi-view geometry and camera pose estimation, SfM, SLAM, georeferencing, or sensor fusion.
• Knowledge of transformer models for 3D vision and multi-modal attention.
• Strong Python skills and experience training deep learning models at scale (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy).
• Software engineering skills to ship research prototypes into production.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and evaluate novel visual localization algorithms combining 3D vision and deep learning.
• Train large models on multi-modal data at scale and build benchmarks to measure accuracy and robustness.
• Develop robust solutions for real-world conditions: noisy GPS, varying capture quality, large geographic extents, unreliable maps.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineering teams to turn research into production-ready solutions.
• Communicate results through technical writing, reviews, and publications.
