Barnsley Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join the Medical Outpatient team, working 19.5 hours weekly. The successful applicant will provide care and support, needing good communication skills and a Care Certificate. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our Medical Outpatient team, working 19.5 hours per week.
Applicants must be motivated, enthusiastic, have a genuine desire to care for patients, and be flexible to work over 5 days in Outpatients.
You must have good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and be dedicated to working in a team supporting the patient through their Outpatient journey.
You will have the opportunity to develop and upskill in a supportive environment.
Hours are flexible, Monday to Friday.
You must be able to work from 8 am to 6:30 pm.

The HCAs contribute to the smooth running of outpatients by performing duties such as measuring heights, weights, BMI, recording patients' observations, and blood sugars.
They are trained to use equipment in the clinic to support different specialties, including performing ECGs, taking bloods, and acting as chaperones in the clinic.
